The best way to get started with OrgWeaver is to view an org chart right away.
Making your first org chart without any data from Excel
The first time you log in to OrgWeaver, you'll see the option to add your own top position (CEO, President, Director, etc.) or create a sample org chart.
- If you create a sample org chart, you can always edit it by right-clicking on an org chart box and choosing "Edit"
- If you add your own top position, OrgWeaver's "Quick Add wizard" will ask you a few more simple questions about positions and people that report to the top position. Once you do that, you can add more positions and people that are under any box in the org chart. Just right-click any box, and then choose "Quick Add wizard" in the menu.
Making your first org chart if you have simple data in Excel (Simple Import)
If you have more than a dozen people in your organization (and especially if you have hundreds or thousands of people), it's easiest to create your first org chart by importing data you already have from Excel.
- Go to the menu in the top right corner of OrgWeaver (the three black lines)
- Choose "Import data"
- Follow the instructions to paste your data from Excel into OrgWeaver in the correct format
Making your first org chart if you have complex data in Excel (Advanced Import)
For advanced users who want OrgWeaver to understand how your data is organized in Excel, we have Advanced Import.
- Go to the menu in the top right corner of OrgWeaver (the three black lines)
- Choose "Import data"
- In the pop-up on your screen, click the "Advanced import" button
- Follow each step to describe how you want OrgWeaver to import your data
