If you're a consultant working with Executives, HR, or Finance, you may want to create an org chart on their behalf to illustrate how things currently work or how they could work in the future.
Using your own OrgWeaver account for multiple clients
- Click the top-right menu
- Click "Import data"
- In "Simple import", choose a name for the new organization that your client will recognize
- If you don't have data to paste into OrgWeaver from Excel, you can just type data in to the correct columns. Tip: Just focus on the top 10 positions at first and use the numbers 1-10 for the Person ID's and Position ID's. You can always add more later.
- After the import is finished, click the "Share" button in the top left of OrgWeaver and add your client's email addresses to invite them to be free collaborators on the newly created org chart.
Important: Whoever you share an org chart with in OrgWeaver will be able to add any of the people in your People Directory to any position in the org chart. If you have a People Directory that includes people from multiple clients, then people from the wrong client could be added to an org chart. That is why we highly recommend the option below.
Setting up a new free OrgWeaver account for one client
- Log out of your OrgWeaver account from the top-right menu.
- In the "Sign-up" field, create a new free OrgWeaver account. Tip: Use an email address you have access to. If you've already used your email address to create an OrgWeaver account in the past, many email systems will deliver email if you add a + sign to your name followed by numbers (e.g., the mails joe@orgweaver.com and joe+123@orgweaver.com are delivered to the same person)
- Check your email and click the link to activate your new account. Name the company the same as your client's company. Complete the activation process.
- You now have an unused "People Directory" and can import people and positions that only belong to one specific client using the "Import data" option in the top-right menu.
- After the import is finished, click the "Share" button in the top left of OrgWeaver and add your client's email addresses to invite them to be free collaborators on the newly created org chart.
Transferring an OrgWeaver account to a client
- If your client wants admin access to the OrgWeaver account you created on their behalf, send an email to support@orgweaver.com. Include the email address that was used to create the account, the client's email address that should have full access, and if the consultant or the client should be billed for any subscription upgrades.
- The OrgWeaver team will then complete the transfer and send a confirmation.
